Miami’s Next Leaders’ Institute

Institute is the formal leadership training course for Miami’s Next Leaders. Each year, through a highly competitive process, Miami’s Next Leaders selects young professionals with a demonstrated track record of progressive leadership in Miami to participate in its signature Leadership Development Institute.

Participants spend five weekends creating a deep network of allies and learning about issues affecting our community, all of which prepares them to initiate and bring about progressive change in our community. During Institute, participants partake in opportunities such as:

  • Participate in skill-building trainings relevant for professionals in across sectors through dynamic workshops;

  • Immerse themselves in issues affecting Miami alongside community leaders and change makers;

  • Identify specific personal leadership and career goals and a personal plan of action to impact the community through a capstone project;

  • Engage with other progressives working across Miami through our alumni network; and,

  • Receive coaching from a mentor who will support them on their path to leadership development and personal growth.

The 2020 Institute will be held from February 2020 through June 2020.  The application deadline has now passed.

Upon being selected into the program, participants will receive the schedule for all Institute sessions. Fellows will be expected to attend weekend events in their entirety.  We will also host optional coaching, skill-building, networking, and career conversations open to current fellows and the broader MNL network.

  • Mid-July (exact date TBD) Fellows Graduation
